A New Day!

This morning when I woke up I got a message from Scott to check out amazing images from "The Big Picture" website. There are tons of amazing news stories in photographs, very inspiring! Here is the link to The Inauguration of President Barack Obama.

This particular image really stands out since a lot of people couldn't figure out how it was taken.

Thanks to the internet! Here is the article from National Press Photographers Association on how the photographer (Chuck Kennedy from the McClatchy-Tribune Photo Service) made this image. Pretty nifty, huh?!

Katie and Daniel's Wedding

Our last wedding of 2008, Katie and Daniel's Wedding was held at Duncanville’s First Baptist Church where her father is the presiding minister who married them. We are so proud to be a part of their wonderful wedding and to be honest... also to all the weddings we have shot in the past years actually. It is a huge honor for us that our couples trust us to capture one of the most important day(s) of their lives. Thanks again, guys!

Here are some images from their wedding day.

Love the multitasking.

Isn't she adorable or what?!

Daniel's little brother watching Daniel's reaction. There's a tear on his cheek you can see in the large file of this.

Mr. and Mrs Hardy!

First dance.

That is right! Milk and cake... nom nom!!!

YMCA from the groom's side.

I believe that is the "Charlie Brown" part but I am not so sure.

Everybody clap your hands... clap clap clap...

A Texas Tech tradition, exiting to toss tortillas. It was quite impressive. Daniel had pretty good reflexes and he grabbed some of them and threw it back!

See what I told you, he got one in the face but look at his hand... he's got one ready.

Sara and Dan's Engagement Portrait

We met up with Sara and Dan at The Dallas Art District. It was one of the coldest Sundays we have had in a long time brr...r. BUT we had so much, we laughed so much. It was just great!

A little back story, I thought it was so neat. Earlier this year Scott got a call from Dan. He told Scott about our... well, Dan's and my first encounter a few years ago at an opening of our friend's tea shop in Richardson. He was telling Scott that we chatted about photography and I showed him our new shiny camera at the time ;p (I am a dork, I couldn't help myself) and gave him a business card. Now that he is getting married to Sara he thought of us. I am so stoked that Scott and I will get to be a part of their wedding.

Here are a few of our favorites from the shoot.

Looking forward to seeing you guys in Austin... very soon!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Seriously? Another year has gone by? These things happen so quickly, yet looking back it clear to us that we've had a great year.

We started out 2008 shooting new cameras (Nikon D3s) and quickly realizing how much more freedom they allowed us on a wedding day. Even though a camera is just a tool, this new tool took us to places we weren't able to go before and capture images that were just impossible to do the year before. We were able to integrate them into our process and have loved every minute with them.

We learned to watch out for bottles filled with salt and baking soda as wedding favors... if under pressure or capped they EXPLODE. We went to Houston a couple of times, Austin, Indiana, Fort Worth, all of Dallas, and shot some great venues for some awesome couples. Babies were born all around us toward the end of the year, and all throughout the year there were smiles and moments we captured and were witness to that we hope everyone will cherish.

Looking back at the blog posts for the year, we feel proud of the work we did in 2008 and can't say "Thank You" enough to all of you who supported us and trusted us to capture your memories. We can only hope for a 2009 as blessed as 2008 was for us. We're definitely excited for another great year!

Regan's Bridal Portrait

We recently photographed Regan's bridal portrait at The Fort Worth Botanic Gardens (the oldest botanic garden in Texas apparently). It was a bit chilly out but we had some sweet warm light here and there. Regan was such a trooper, she was up for anything.

Note to self :p Since Regan is an owner of Details & Designs Event Production therefore I know the wedding details are going to be wonderful and fun to photograph. I absolutely can't wait!!!
